Sarah & John’s Wedding day.
I love what I do, being able to photograph a wedding is such a special thing. It is very hard at the moment for everyone in the wedding industry who is unable to do their job. I was very lucky to be able to photograph the wedding of Sarah & John.
This has shown me that I truly love being a wedding photographer. Before every wedding I go through a checklist to make sure that all of my equipment is ready for the day ahead, this time I had to add a few more items. With all my camera gear packed with the additional few face masks and hand sanitizer gel I was ready to go. I made sure to self isolate as much as possible before the wedding to be extra careful.
With all the restrictions in place I know it must have been very hard for Sarah & John to organise there wedding. But it was such a wonderful day. Everyone had come together to make it such a fantastic day.
Covid - 19
Updated information.
With the current COVID-19 situation and the effect the lockdown is having on the wedding industry as a whole, I know many of you are worried about your wedding plans. To help ease any uncertainty you might have, we wanted to provide some more information on how we’re handling this unprecedented situation.
New Bookings
If you're considering having James Alexander Images to photograph your wedding but have yet to secure your booking, our diary is still open for new bookings so please do get in touch. Alternatively, we’d be happy to arrange a video call with you if you’d like to talk through the options face-to-face or have a look at some of our sample albums.
Postponed Weddings
We want to support you throughout the COVID-19 crisis so if you find yourself in the unfortunate position of having to reschedule your wedding, we'll be happy to move your booking to another date free of charge, subject to availability. If we don't have your new date available, I have a network of amazing colleagues who'll be able to step-in and cover your wedding if need be. So the message here is, don't worry - your booking is safe with me.
Balance Payments
We know that many of our clients will have had their incomes affected by the COVID-19 lockdown as we have. Where possible, we want to encourage our clients to make their balance payments as per our originally-agreed schedule to help keep us ticking-over during this difficult period. If you have concerns about difficulties in paying your balance as a result of the COVID-19 crisis, please get in touch - we’ll be happy to discuss the options with you.

Creative couple photography in exeter.
I am always looking to improve my photography skills and knowledge. Training on new equipment and techniques helps with this and keeping up to date with the lastet trends. I am very lucky to have a group of friends who are willing to let me test out new techniques. Here are a few pictures from a photo shoot in Exeter.

I get very excited when I meet the couple for the engagement shoot. Getting to know them both better and I am thrilled to see their reactions when I show them the pictures. The weather for Sarah & John’s engagement shoot was amazing to have such good weather in early September was a true blessing. I had arranged to meet them at the Quay in Exeter at around 6pm. This would give us lovely light and enough time to get a nice selection of images before sunset. We discussed a lot of different ideas and different types of poses without it becoming to forced. When sunset arrived we were able to try a few different ideas incorporating off camera flashes to produce some creative pictures. I am really looking forward to their wedding day.

With working in the wedding industry you meet lots of other suppliers. Coutts Events are a supplier of tableware and lots of others things, they arranged a photo shoot with Orchardlea Occasion Foods. They had organised the beautiful location of castle hill as a backdrop. They asked me if I would be available to take some photo to be used for brand promotions, I jump at the chance. I love working with other people in the wedding industry you have so much fun. It was a wonderful day in the countryside and I was able to produce the pictures you see above.
New Website
So excited with the new website
I have been wanting to update my website for a while, but as you might imagine it takes a lot of work and time. With the current situation which has affected every aspect of life this year I thought it was the right time to start. I have always liked design and any other visual medium. One of my favorite subjects at school was graphic design, so if I get a chance to work on my logo and branding I am very happy.
